BLVD Is Bringing Old Hollywood Back

And It’s Doing So With Caviar, Truffle-Covered Filets and Port Cocktails

When was the last time you were gazing up at a glass chandelier only to be interrupted by a bow tie-wearing server asking if you’d prefer Golden Osetra or Kristal caviar service?

It’s probably been a minute.

If you’re ready for a reprise, then BLVD is equally ready with a restaurant straight out of Old Hollywood. It’s open now in the West Loop, and here’s the slideshow.

Those chandeliers look nice dangling near the dramatic black staircase leading to the upstairs lounge and its secluded booths. It’s a no-brainer for your next date night.

Or the next time you’re craving filet mignon with foie gras and truffles. While the restaurant takes its cues from the ’50s, the menu is a bit more modern. Case and point: steak tartare accented with bone marrow butter and Sriracha aioli, to say nothing of the pot pie-style Chicken à la King.

And champagne. They have plenty of that, too. Plus an assortment of classic-ish cocktails named after the golden days. The Moon Is Blue involves Blue Curaçao, of course, with rum and fresh citrus. And before you venture further out into the night, close out this portion of it with a Mr. Sandeman and its rye, Sandeman port and cola bitters.

Consider it a pre-nightcap nightcap.
