Just keep four simple things in mind:
Make it sexy. Make it simple. Make it very 2015. Also, make it something that in the year 2100 people will still want to put in their space apartments/dystopian cave dwellings (whatever the case may be).
Hard to do. But, sure enough, 85 years after Mies van der Rohe debuted his Barcelona table, it’s still somehow a very cool thing to put in front of your couch.
So let’s not take that achievement for granted. As part of our ongoing investigation into your coffee table, let’s take a moment to be thankful for the design giants who changed our lobbies, our living rooms and what we put our stocking feet up on while watching some television for the better.
