Things to do for November 03, 2011
The Weekender
Tandem Bikes, East German Cars and the Biden Burger
The weekend is still trying to scrub the fake blood off.
Thursday
Friday
Joe Biden, Now in Burger Form
Next time you’d like to really indulge in a burger, BLT is serving up a rotating array of all-Kobe political burgers, like the Cuban Missile, with ham, Swiss and mustard aioli, and the VP, a homemade Kobe Sloppy Joe. Which is what they call Biden behind his back.
Craft Countdown at Smoke & Barrel
When it comes to beer, you’re in it for the long haul. Smoke & Barrel appreciates your commitment. So they’re knocking a dollar off their two dozen drafts at 10pm, another buck at 11pm and still another buck at midnight. Better put down a traffic cone to save your bar stool.
Saturday
A Parade of Cold War Relics on F Street
The Cold War. A time of technological breakthroughs. Great leaps forward. And crappy little East German cars called Trabants. Which the Spy Museum will be lining up on F Street all afternoon on Saturday, along with a German band and a few chatty Cold War experts. You will not need to show anyone your papers.
Sunday
Half-Off Bikes near the Mall
After a summer of eschewing Metro, your two-wheeler has seen better days. Enter this annual sale by the bike rental folks near the Mall. They’re knocking half off Trek road bikes, hybrids, even tandems. No word on tandem mountain bikes.
Monday
Citronelle Does Mondays
Just when you think your weekend is behind you, Michel Richard throws open the doors to Citronelle’s lounge on Mondays for the first time. Of course, that comes complete with all the haute chicken nuggets, lobster burgers and fries you can handle. In other words, a lot.
