Gisele Bundchen is someone who quite literally cannot keep up with the Kardashians. Kendall Jenner, the tall quiet Kardashian (the tall loud one is Khloe, the short quiet one is Kourtney) just surpassed the Brazilian supermodel as the highest paid model in the world. The 22-year-old has an estimated income of $22 million. That’s a million dollars for every year she’s been alive. Casual.
Since 2002, Bundchen had held the title as highest paid model, but this year she’s embarrassingly only bringing in $17.5 million dollars. That’s a million dollars for every plastic surgery Kylie Jenner’s received thus far. Last year Bundchen made $30 million. I’m not sure we’re valuing good looks the way we used to.
At 84.5 million followers, Jenner is one of the most popular accounts on Instagram which means she can charge an insane amount for sponsored posts. Harper's Bazaar estimated she can get around $400,000 per sponsored post. While that is excellent for her bank, her popularity on Instagram has caused some people to discredit her success in the fashion world. Last year, Rebecca Romijn stated that these social media stars, referring to Jenner and probably the Hadid sisters, are not “true supermodels.” Whatever does or doesn’t qualify someone as a super model these days might be up for debate. But you can’t deny Jenner is making a super lot of money.
Jenner’s income also comes from a variety of brand campaign collaborations, like La Perla, Adidas, and Fendi. One can’t forget her partnership with Pepsi, where she famously found a solution for world peace: a can of soda! Solving the greatest issue to plague the earth’s history must definitely pay well!
