From the people who brought you fried chicken on a patio and tiki cocktails in a palm frond-covered paradise...

Comes an early morning and late-night taco, coffee and cocktail spot.

And the winning streak rolls on.

At Lonesome Rose, the latest addition to Land & Sea Dept.'s smartly designed endeavors. It's open now in Logan Square looking precisely like this.

Things start early down in these parts, with chorizo verde breakfast tacos and matching green juice served at the cactus-covered bar. At night, you'll move things into the airy dining room, where simple wood furnishings give way to, yes, more plants.

There, Chef Pete Coenen of Cherry Circle Room fame will be doing beautiful things with Tex-Mex and northern Mexican recipes. Things like putting flower petals on tuna tostadas and making the best nachos to ever sit on an enamel platter. They're covered in black beans, queso and carne asada, of course.

Behind the bar, Paul McGee is doing his thing with a sherry-spiked tomatillo-and-mezcal smash. Also, margaritas. Some frozen, some shaken, all made with carefully sourced tequila.  And there's definitely not a secret cocktail bar illuminated by the words "Weddings & Funerals" in the basement.

Nope. Definitely not.
