Up until now, North Avenue Beach had a surprising lack of lakeside cabanas, charcuterie and copper pineapples filled with vodka.

Let's unpack that "up until now" part, shall we...

It pertains directly to Shore Club, your new three-venues-in-one oasis for enjoying all of those things with likeminded local people and your soon-to-be-impressed date. It's now open and looks like this.

About those three venues:

Occupying what could be described as a small airplane hanger is the Restaurant. With its golden bar on one end and its views of the lake on the other, it's the place to feast upon tuna poke in an ice bowl and crispy lobster taquitos alongside glasses of Frosé. No. No you may not escape Frosé.

And tucked right up against the Lakefront Trail is the Patio, where flamingos and giant copper pineapples are filled with sharable, sparking cucumber-vodka punches. Sandy feet are welcome, as is your presence for the occasional cooking class or art exhibition.

Lastly, the Oasis is where you'll find those cabanas and their white couches on a secluded section of beach. Reserve yours for easy access to champagne and beef tenderloin skewers. And now might also be a good time to remind you that the Air & Water Show is this weekend.

So, the Air & Water Show is this weekend.
