“Sh*t.”
—You, because it’s Monday again.

“Never mind.”
—You, after finding out about this place.

This place being Kick—a new restaurant that’s laid down roots in North Center with spicy drinks and lots of Wagyu beef. It grand-opens for dinner tonight. Hi, slideshow. And hello, menu.

This used to be home to the Hawaiian fine-dining establishment, Sola. Now, it’s home to a place whose deep reds, smoky hues and crackly cement tables suggest the inside of a volcano. So there’s that imagery to consider.

Everything on the menu’s got some kick to it (hence the name), meaning you’ll come here to warm up over something spicy. Their signature dry-rub hot wings would not be a bad choice. Nor would their pork stew. But if you’re looking for something milder, go for the Pit Fire. It’s a Wagyu beef burger topped with house-cured pork belly. And... it’s not actually that mild.

When you’re done eating things, stay for a drink at the bar, where the lights hang from old meatpacking conveyor belts and the mules contain chile-de-arbol-infused honey.

They would.
