You’ll notice we left off “beer.”
That’s because it’s already there.
Get back to nature at Wild Run Brewing Company, the only brewery we know of that resides inside a campground, now pouring at Aquia Pines Camp Resort in Stafford.
You’ll find this place down I-95 a spell. There’s a pool, cabins, tent sites and more than a few RV hookups.
But head into the camp store, hang a left, and you’ll find a tasting room serving a half dozen or so beers, like a cream ale, a smooth stout and their 0311 Pale Ale, named for the Marines’ rifleman designation.
Might as well get sample tastes of all of them in the afternoon. That way when you light your grill in the evening, you’ll know which ones you want to fetch in pitcher or growler quantities.
The whole thing grew out of a homebrew shop that the owner runs from the camp store. So feel free to bring a CO2 tank, some yeast strains and some hops home with you and give it a shot.
Or just bring some back to your campsite.
Two words: hop s’mores.
