A Henderson Hall for Beer and Sports

Welcome to March.

If you’re looking to watch some college basketball, drink some cold beer and read some leather-bound almanacs, well, you came to the right place.

Bust a few brackets for Henderson Tap House, a cavernous hall of suds, sports and one fine-looking library, opening Thursday on... Henderson.

This isn’t your typical sports bar. Sure, it’s got the obvious hallmarks like flat-screens, trophies and buffalo wings. But it’s also got this whole attractive exposed-brick-and-dark-wood-panels thing going on. Plus, a corner library that you’ll frequent for serious discourse. Or when your phone dies and you want to look up who the Rangers’ fifth starter was in 1983. (It was Frank Tanana.)

But because this place outnumbers your home in every important statistical category... bars (two), drafts (24), TVs (17), you’ll really want to swing by for a game. Grab a burnt-orange leather booth and a 23-ounce pilsner, then busy yourself with pork tacos and jalapeño-topped burgers. One eye on the burger, one eye on the Mavs.

Oh, and if the game happens to run into sextuple overtime, not a problem. The bar is open until 2am and they’re serving wood-fired pizzas until 1:30am.

Yep, the old pepperoni nightcap.
