The Sequel to Sunset Lounge

None 3 Photos Sunset Lounge
Once upon a time (okay, it was August), there was a dark and bottle-service-y dance den called Sunset Lounge.

Then it quietly closed. And you were sad/maybe didn’t notice.

Anyway, it’s back now.

But you’ll have to take our word for it, because... well, you’re not going to recognize it.

Meet the second coming of Sunset Lounge, an airy neighborhood hangout sporting two bars, 30 beers and a bunch of classic cocktails, now open on Ross Avenue.

So yes, it’s got the same name. But that’s where the similarities end. Because the Bowl & Barrel guys have taken over the space and transformed it from a windowless brick cave into a cozy lair with wood floors and banana-leaf wallpaper. The kind of place where you abscond straightaway to a plush leather booth, summon rum cocktails and immediately cancel anything you had planned for the next four hours.

Yup, this has “after-work hideout” written all over it. Investigate for yourself at the heavy wood bar with the white stools. Grab something classic (a Negroni should do), then about-face, navigate through a few tables and head outside to the glass-enclosed patio. Hey, another bar. You just can’t lose today.

And in a few weeks, the kitchen will start cranking out food like jerk chicken tacos and ceviche. So there’s that to look forward to.

Great, now all you can think about is jerk chicken.
