Classic Oxfords and Blazers on Newbury

Don’t be fooled.

Yes, it’s still warm outside. Actually, it’s very warm. Textbook late-summer weather. But make no mistake... fall is coming. Hard.

Which means it’s time to start looking at fall-ish threads. Say, the kind found sitting on vintage furniture.

In this case, not your vintage furniture.

Presenting Gant Boston, the very first Boston store of the rugged-yet-preppy brand, now open in the Back Bay.

Considering your affinity for classic oxfords that use designs mostly unchanged over the last 50 years, chances are your closet houses a few of their button-downs already.

But now it’ll be a lot easier to get their stuff, thanks to this airy, white brick and vintage/modern/Danish-y store. It doesn’t appear at all overstocked, but they’ve got all of the brand’s classic shirts (tip: head right to the custom-built shirt rack in the rear), its stylish-meets-outdoorsy Rugger sweaters, corduroy trousers and jackets (to be employed during crisp October beach bonfires on ACK). Even some exclusive-to-here, elbow-patched shetland blazers and chinos by designer and Babson alum Michael Bastian.

Also found only here: tortoiseshell shades, fragrances, and leather laptop and iPad cases hailing from the oldest tannery in Sweden.

The best electronics accessories are usually found near chinos.
