Days like this only come along every four years. Really. You can look it up.

Better jot everything down for posterity as this quadrennial outlier unfolds.

But first, better take care of your face.

Wouldn’t you know it: there’s a place where you can do both.

It’s an odd little pop-up brimming with nostalgia (and razors). It’s called Mutiny, and it’s now curating its wares on 14th.

It’s easy enough to find. You’ll just walk into Redeem, but before you turn left to peruse their edgy outerwear and 1000 Mile Boots, turn right and feast your eyes on this emporium of vintage shaving gear, high-end face oils and maybe the odd leather journal.

The focus: a collection of vintage razors, shaving brushes and shaving mirrors sourced from as far as Tennessee, Holland and the estate of Rutherford B. Hayes (not really, but you can pretend). Pair them up with apothecary products from Portland General Store, which just smell like they’re vintage (they model their scents on recipes from the ’20s and ’30s, so you get stuff like tobacco-scented beard oil and pine shave jelly).

You’ll also find District-made fountain pens and leather-bound journals out of Baltimore.

Handy for keeping a shaving diary.
