A Fine NYC Burgery Comes to Chicago

Frankly, it’s been far too long since we brought you photos of unbelievably delicious-looking hamburgers.

And for that, we sincerely apologize.

Allow us to make it up to you with this lovely slideshow from Chicago’s first Bareburger—the oft-spoken-of burger operation from New York that’s finally decided to lay roots in our humble Midwestern hamlet. It’s soft-open now in Roscoe Village, and it grand-opens on Monday.

You’ll head here with a few carnivorous friends when you’re looking for something low-key. With all that wood and funky lighting, you may feel like you’re inside some quaint, rural bed-and-breakfast. Which suits you just fine. Just fine, indeed.

As for what you’ll eat, maybe start with some sriracha-and-pork-belly brussels sprouts and a spinach-and-blue-cheese salad. Though you could just as well go straight for what they’re best known for: the burgers (see: name of restaurant).

We suggest using this opportunity to try something different. Like the wild boar burger with duck bacon. Or the guacamole-topped bison burger. Or something involving elk meat.

And when you’re finished, make sure to ask for a tequila-spiked Mexican chocolate shake.

If for no other reason than the fact that it’s a tequila-spiked Mexican chocolate shake.
