In its place: a wide-open space with wood floors and gray walls that could easily be mistaken for a random art gallery. Because it’s covered in original work by Schlow’s wife, Adrienne—from a 60-foot-long mural made of Pollock-esque drippings to a giant blue circle that says “Do Not Disturb My Circles.”
After not disturbing Adrienne’s circles, head to the wraparound zinc bar and acquaint yourself with some Greek wines before your date shows up. Just keep an eye on the raw bar. You’ll need those oysters and that Greek ceviche later.
In this case, later happens in a corner banquette. There will be whole fish. There will be roasted eggplant. There will be house-baked flatbreads and fava bean hummus.
