The Big 'Dance

Drinking Your Way Through Sundance

Park City's biggest holiday is just a couple weeks away, and if you're going to come out of it with some good times and possibly a three-picture development deal, you need a plan. Fortunately, we've got one—our guide to Sundance, in all its deal-making, Ping-Pong playing, Natalie Portman-spotting glory.

St. Regis Deer Crest Resort

If you're still looking for a place to crash—and for some reason Redford isn't returning your calls—this mountaintop resort might be the last place in Park City with rooms still unbooked. But given that it has an in-house restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a mountain's worth of nearby slopes and a "ski beach" (essentially, an enormous lounge on the mountain terrace), maybe Bob will end up staying with you.

THE FRENCH

The Goldbar Sky Suite at The Sky Lodge

If you're looking for statuesque French models in the middle of Utah, you pretty much have one option: the French fashion rag Jalouse's official bash at this après-ski-styled lounge, put together by Goldbar, New York's infamous gold-leafed cocktail palace. Try the penthouse level for a whole floor's worth of private parties ripe for the crashing.

THE CLUB

TAO Lounge at The Lift

It wouldn't be the movie business without a club where you can pop bottles and put your film's "making it rain" budget to good use. In a desert of networking, this Vegas import attracts Sundance's wildest and craziest figures. By which we mean Mickey Rourke.

THE COMPETITION

The K-Swiss Ping-Pong Classic at Gen Art

We've heard stories of some spectacular Park City revelry at Gen Art, but this time they may have topped themselves. They're pitting teams of to-be-named film casts against each other in the sport of kings: Ping-Pong. Expect competition to be every bit as fierce as the Grand Jury Prize, which means there's a pretty good chance it ends with Harvey Weinstein flipping over the table.

THE MOVIES

The Filmmaker Lodge

This café is all panels, directors and shop talk during the day, but after hours the coffee gives way to booze and the networking gives way to impromptu dance parties. It's your best bet for finally finding someone to produce that vampire-merman epic you've been pitching around town.

The Bing Supper Club at Cisero's
THE DINNER

The Bing Supper Club at Cisero's

This Main Street spot is hosting cast-and-crew dinners all week with a rotating cast of famous chefs (including Philippe Chow on Friday and Larry Greenwood of STK on Saturday), making it something like the Olympics of gate-crashing. So far the guest list is under wraps, but we're guessing the celebs will be at least as famous as the chefs.

THE CELEBRITY

Downstairs

By the end of the circus, we're guessing you will have had your fill of schmoozing—it sounds crazy, we know—and might be in dire need of something a little more low-key. Too bad. Head here, a new nightspot from Danny Masterson, for dancing, a wall full of dart boards and a good old-fashioned bar. Cheers to you, Hyde.
