Now With Tableside Sundae Bars and a Personal Reserve Chamber for Your Rare Japanese Whiskey

*Unless it's to revamp your iconic steakhouse with table side large-format martini service, add reserve chambers for patrons to store their rare Japanese whiskies and offer personal spiked sundae bars.

In which case, please do.

And that's just what Harry's has done. The Wall Street institution immortalized in novels such as Tom Wolfe's Bonfire of the Vanities and Brett Easton Ellis's American Psycho that's been fueling the power lunch and post-work business crowd with T-Bones and whiskey since '72 recently shut down to hit the refresh button in all the right ways—and is fully open as of tonight in FiDi. 

Some is the same, some is different...all is broken down right here for easy reference.

Then: You came after work for gin and tonics with grapefruit and fresh sage—chosen off a menu dreamed up by a Bathtub Gin alum.
Now: Table side decanters full of martinis or Manhattans for four are also an option.

Then: It was good-looking in an old-school New York, "sure, I can appreciate this," sort of way.
Now: It's just plain attractive: with curved red suede booths and a Boom Boom Room-esque glowing structure in the center of the dining room.

Then: There were six steaks to choose from, all dry-aged for 28 days.
Now: Same. But if you're in the mood for pasta, they've added a killer cacio e pepe, short rib bolognese and squid ink shrimp scampi to the updated menu. Speaking of the updated menu, here's that.

Then: Your whisk(e)y options were limited to what you could put in your body over the course of one lunch/dinner.
Now: You can acquire the rare bottle of your choice (Hibiki 21-year Japanese whisky and Macallan 25-year-old single malt scotch from Harry's personal collection are a couple of our favorites on offer) and store it in your personal glowing golden reserve chamber in the dining room. Which will be just slightly impressive to whoever you're with the next time you come by.

Then: Maybe you saved room for dessert, maybe you didn't.
Now: Oh, you're saving room for the table side build-your-own spiked sundae bar and warm ice cream-topped cookies and cream skillet. 

Then: This slideshow full of beautiful steak, onion ring towers and delicious and decadent food items did not exist.
Now: We fixed that.
