Katz’s Delicatessen is the iconic New York diner, famous for their overstuffed pastrami sandwiches.

Au Cheval is the world-renowned Chicago restaurant, famous for its perfectly gooey double-cheeseburger [pictured].

Meaning the Au Cheval x Katz’s Deli cheeseburger is...well, it’s probably exactly what you think it is: a gloriously jingoistic mash-up of two of the most delicious things you can eat in these United States of America.

For just two days this month—Thursday, February 15th and Friday, February 16th—you can be among the few who get to try this fantastical creation, at Au Cheval in Chicago. Considering they don’t take reservations, if you happen to be in town (or have scheduled a last-minute “business trip”) you might want to plan ahead and get there early—and be prepared to wait.

What comes to those who do will be called the CAB Burger. Expect Au Cheval’s famous hamburger patty, topped with Katz’s iconic pastrami, sharp American cheese, minced red onion, kosher dill pickles and dijonnaise, layered with care between two buns—with the option to add a farm-fresh egg on top.

Don’t expect to return to work after.

Note bene: if you're not one of the lucky few who get the chance to try the CAB Burger at Au Cheval, Katz's Deli will be offering a simplified recipe on their website for you to make it at home, and you can have Katz's pastrami delivered via their nationwide shipping service.
