You’d just hit PCH when the whole world came crashing down.

You forgot a pocket square for your blazer.

Or maybe a blazer for your pocket square.

Reroute to Combatant Gentlemen, the first location of OC’s online formalwear source to exist in the material world, now open at Santa Monica Place. Here’s the slideshow.

It’s a big white store in an outlying corner of the mall stocking the full collection of formal haberdashery you’ve seen online. We just used the word “haberdashery.” Here’s how you’ll use this place.

For 11th-hour essentials.
What sounded like a beachy hangout earlier suddenly sounds significantly more gala-ish now. Stop here, grab a blazer, cap-toe shoes, a tie and a pocket square. You don’t need socks.

For road trip carry.
They have bags. Handsome leather ones that scream weekender. Silently.

To get personal.
Make a made-to-measure appointment for a custom suit with help from an on-site stylist. Or design your own using a touchscreen pad. Be true to your vision.

For group party prep.
Maybe it’s a wedding. Hopefully it’s something else. But when needed, the groom’s suite is bookable to get everyone suited up. They’ll even serve drinks if desired.

We did mention they stock the essentials.
