This was the year you resolved to learn archery.

And just under the wire, this is the year you finally get a store with an archery range inside of it.

It's Best Made Co., the first local branch from the New York menswear label with quite a predilection for sharp objects, now open on LaBrea.

This store of sturdy garments looks like Ron Swanson died and went to heaven. A lumber-rich hybrid of a hardware store and a haberdasher of reliable outerwear. Take a closer look. We think you'll appreciate...

The clothes: Ostensibly what you came for. Down bombers, blanket-lined ranch jackets, denim work shirts and other outdoorsy gear made from highly efficient, natural fibers. Tough-guy stuff.

Sensible things: Like enamel dog bowls and camping cups, a stunning array of knives, leather bags, water bottles made with Sleepy Jones and LA-exclusive strong boxes, bandanas and local maps.

Archery: Remember loose talk of an archery range above? Well, they have one for testing their long-bow, which may become your long-bow. If you don't have a long-bow yet.

The axe bar: They make axes. Sharp, beautiful, gleaming, American axes that are good at chopping things. They also have this area for getting yours restored.

Your usual axe guy is going to be bummed.
