Take stock of what’s in your pockets.
Wallet. Keys. Phone. 101 drink recipes from a Maison Premiere vet that are broken down by spirit category and range from tried-and-true classics to newer concoctions...
Maybe some lint...
But about those recipes: they’re actually inside your phone, assuming you’ve acquired The Liquor Cabinet. It’s a digital compendium sporting recipes, tips, tools and recommended bottles for improving your at-home drink-making repertoire. Some would call it an app. It’s available now for devices of the Apple variety.
This comes to us from three brothers, including expert Instagrammer Patrick Janelle. They teamed up with Maxwell Britten, the former bar director at Brooklyn’s Maison Premiere, a real gem of an oyster, absinthe and cocktail den. And the result is this app, which is chock-full of recipes for classic drinks like the Brandy Crusta, Vieux Carré and Aviation. As well as less-classic-but-still-important beverages like the delightfully named Suffering Bastard (cognac, gin, bitters).
Rifle through the recipes and all that attractive photography. Read up on bar tools and liquors, learn about each drink’s origin and try your hand at mixing some up yourself.
In the meantime, you can see a few drinks here to wet your whistle.
Nothing worse than a parched whistle.
