They say the Negroni Sbagliato was a mistake.
The product of a Milan bartender accidentally adding sparkling wine to a Negroni in place of gin.
The name itself even translates to “wrong Negroni,” but take a sip and you’ll see that it’s actually very, very right. It’s more like a wine-laced Americano than a traditional Negroni, and something to employ during long brunches or whenever life requires an aperitif.
Thank you for your service, mistaken bartender guy.
Negroni Sbagliato
1 oz Campari
1 oz sweet vermouth
1 oz sparkling wine
Add Campari and vermouth to an ice-filled rocks glass. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with an orange peel.
