A Wine Bar atop a Cocktail Bar

One bar under one roof is not always enough. So on the heels of the Brick & Mortar cocktail bar at Prequel, here’s their fourth-floor wine bar, called conveniently the 4th Floor Wine Bar. It’ll have cheeses, lobster salad, mortadella and—spoiler alert—plenty of wines by the glass.

Burgers, by Way of the Middle East

Arugula. Parsley. Garlic. Pine nuts. All good stuff. And better stuff when it’s in a burger. So you’ll like the newest pop-up at EatsPlace, which mixes burgers with Middle Eastern spices and stuffs them with garlic-infused cheese. No wonder civilization was born there.

Got a Quarter? You’ve Got a Martini.
TWO BITS

Got a Quarter? You’ve Got a Martini.

You don’t need a special day to drink a martini. Yet National Martini Day is tomorrow all the same. So here’s what you do: head to DC Coast, order anything off the food menu, then get a martini with any American-made vodka for a quarter. Yes, two dimes and a nickel works, too.

The Sneakers Your Summer Needs
THE GOAT IS THE HERO

The Sneakers Your Summer Needs

Designed by DC-based Wolf vs Goat and handmade in Italy, these suede numbers are lined in 100% calfskin, and only 50 pairs were made in each of six colors. So they’re not the sneakers you’ll wear to the gym. They’re the ones you’ll wear when you’re not at the gym.

Sunday
Getting Dad a Shave. And a Drink.
BLADE RUNNER

Getting Dad a Shave. And a Drink.

Drinking and sharp metal objects don’t often mix. Except on Father’s Day, when Paradise Springs Winery is hosting a pop-up barbershop, along with a cigar bar and a pig roast. Meanwhile, closer to home, Southern Efficiency will have hot shaves by the Barber of Hell’s Bottom. And plenty of bourbon.
