Skiing New Zealand with Hot Tubs and Beer

New Zealand.

If it’s good enough for The Lord of the Rings, it’s good enough for you.

Yeah, that’s what you never say.

But still... nice place to do some skiing.

Keep your tips up for Canterbury Explorer Tour, a nine-night, culture-heavy trip wherein you’ll ski, stay and drink places that the Canterbury locals ski, stay and drink, booking now for an August send-off. (See the slideshow.)

Your guides for the duration are a couple of well-accredited guys named Dave and Graeme. They’ll show you around, which in this case means finding good powder, accessing slopes via helicopter and ending your days with well-earned beers. Dave and Graeme have your back.

Your first five days will be spent exploring winding cat tracks and fast pistes out of Methven. And you’ll spend your nights at a small 16-room chalet that’s within walking distance of several bars and cafés. So be sure to take a stroll.

Then it’s off to Lake Ohau for three days of heli-skiing and regular skiing, plus all the trappings you expect from comfortable lodges, like fresh salmon, cold drinks and hot tubs.

Yep, that’s the appropriate temperature for each.
