Comfort Food and Rum Coffee in Edgewater

Hey, don’t blame us.

We’re not the ones predicting next week’s polar vortex.

We’re simply the ones telling you about a new place to snuggle up with a warm coffee or a little bourbon.

And perhaps both at the same time.

That would be Revival Social Club, a place for comfort food, candied-bacon brunches and some high-proof coffee cocktails, soft-opening Monday in Edgewater. (Here’s the slideshow.)

It’s got a casual neighborhood vibe. Shaker-style woodwork, vintage-looking bar stools, a galvanized-steel bar top and a communal table right in the center of it all.

Drop in whenever you feel like it. Hang out with friends. Grab some breakfast (short rib egg sandwiches), lunch (Tabasco-dressing Caesar salads), dinner (ancho-coffee-crusted pork tenderloins), weekend brunch (Jelly Donut Pancakes) and cocktails (bacon Old Fashioneds).

Maybe space those out a bit.

And perhaps you’ve gathered, but... coffee. It’s a big deal here. Dark Matter’s Chocolate City cold brew on tap, Nutella lattes, cordial glasses filled with something called the Drunken Unicorn. It’s their own special coffee liqueur involving high-proof rum and really strong coffee beans that were aged in bourbon barrels.

You may see a rainbow.
