Jeans, a Jacket and Maybe a Ram’s Head

Say you’re standing naked in an empty room.

There’s one door.

If you were in a horror movie... you might not want to open the door.

If you were in a late-night Cinemax flick... opening the door would be your call.

If you were really just looking to get yourself dapper, and deftly transform this empty room with a pair of ship deck chairs and a ram’s head, then hopefully the door leads you to Martin Mattox. First it was a Perish Trust pop-up, now it’s its own Noe Valley store. (See the slideshow here.)

Here’s what you won’t find:

A kitchen sink.

Here’s what you will find:

A G9 Baracuta jacket, a Saint James French sailor shirt, SF-made Copain jeans and some cologne called Moonshine. Smells like leather and tobacco. There. Now you’re good, head-to-toe. And you smell nice.

Here’s what else you’ll find:

A pair of ship deck chairs, some more Eames-y stuff, lots of taxidermy, an American flag, mirrors, a marble table, an old trunk and a book about beards. There. Now your place looks...

Like a catalog spread about your place.
