Your romantic snow-day to-do list:

Make snow angels together.

Have a snowball fight.

Find a new subterranean hideaway from the city’s hottest restaurateur and spend the evening huddled in a booth feeding each other foie gras and drinking champagne.

In case you’re having trouble nailing that last one...

Introducing The Library at Gilt Bar, a cozy, velvet-and-leather downstairs sanctuary, opening tonight.

You’ve traipsed down this narrow stairway and found yourself in this low-ceilinged space before. It once housed Curio, the charming cavern that you were once so besotted with. Rumor had it that it was slated to transform into a ramen bar, but Brendan Sodikoff consulted Farmers’ Almanac months ago and determined that you’d probably need something like this right about now.

The menu is the same as upstairs, but you’ll now have a place made for cold weather or the occasional low-lit rendezvous. It’s amazing what simply adding a few candles on the tables can do. Of course, adding red velvet booths and a few thousand antique leather-bound volumes does a lot more. So you’ll find those as well.

The timing is perfect. Tonight, come and settle into one of the booths. Toast each other with some champagne—gently, that’s antique crystal glassware—and then just fondue the night away.

Or vice versa.
