Your New Club/Lounge/Trapeze/Burger Joint

You’ve had your share of challenges this week—none tougher than finding a good gastropub. True, you do demand gastropubs with dance floors, lasers and the occasional girl hanging from the ceiling.

So at least one challenge has been met.

Welcome to Castle, an epic reconfiguration of the 24-year-old Excalibur into a 60,000-square-foot, choose-your-own-adventure megaplex, opening tonight.

There’s a lot going on here, so allow us to present this quick tour:

Start in the gastropub. The official name is Craft Pub & Eatery. You can’t miss it. Just follow the scent of chicken-and-waffle sliders and soppressata pizza. One warning: the cocktails have silly names like The Booty Call. But the beers have tough-guy names like Milk Stout Nitro, Citra Ninja and Matilda. (You’ve known some tough Matildas.)

Toward the back is Cabaret. It’s a cabaret. You may encounter dueling pianos during happy hour. You may encounter a bachelorette party later on.

Upstairs is Palladium. Dead giveaway: three million LEDs. Also, so many lasers you could blow up a small moon. There is a DJ whipping up the crowd. But caution: trapeze artists may be working above without a net.

To the right is Sanctuary. It’s a smaller lounge billed as a place welcoming to all lifestyles. Which we all know what that’s code for.

A place that’s open to Booty Call drinkers.
