“Hey, let’s get a drink.”

In the pantheon of let’s-find-out-where-this-is-leading gambits, it’s a road-tested, all-weather standby. A solid B-plus.

“Hey, let’s get a drink and some wiener schnitzel sliders.”

Suddenly, you’re in exciting, uncharted territory.

Welcome to Amuse, now open in the new lobby of Swissôtel Chicago and making a play to be your new go-to for Bavarian pretzels and hibiscus daiquiris. (Please, let your old place down easy.)

No, this won’t replace the Palm as a spot to entertain clients over big New York strips and martinis. But if you turn right at the hotel’s entrance and enter the lobby—all shimmery after a $10 million renovation—you’ve got a place for other opportunities:

She wants small plates, but you don’t. Everything’s available in two sizes: Taste and Share—because you really never know how many veal schnitzel sliders or fried avocados it will take to satisfy you.

You need to demonstrate your dominance in the arena of video game tennis. Head to the Media Room, a snug low-ceilinged room behind the bar in back to play their Wii.

Federer has nothing on you.
