Things to do for November 03, 2011
The Weekender
Lamb, $1 Oysters and a New Place to Watch the Pats
The weekend has begun stalking turkeys.
Thursday
Spring Threads. In November.
Today at Louis, you can get a sneak peek at the spring/summer lines of high-end menswear designer Sartoria Partenopea (not too early to start thinking about spring). Plus, they’ll be measuring you for custom suits and handing out gratis wine. Might be a knock-off-work-a-little-early kind of day.
Food Truck vs. Not a Food Truck
You probably already know this, but today is National Sandwich Day. So hit Chez Henri tonight, where they’ll be feeding you as they go toe-to-toe against Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese food truck to see who has the best sandwich, best poutine and other sandwich-y accoutrements. By which we mean fried pickles.
Friday
Half of Trina’s = New Sports Pub
Trina’s Starlite Lounge. It was good, but now it’s better. That’s because they’ve turned one side of it into a separate cowboy-ish sports lounge with its own entrance, more flat-screens and new tailgate-y fare like onion strings, chili fries and wings. It’s like your basement, but in Inman Square.
Sunday
$1 Oysters and Self-Poured Guinness
Sometimes Sundays call for nachos, movies and football. And sometimes they call for heading to the Lansdowne Pub for $1 oysters, live music from an Irish band and... well, football (Pats are on at 4pm). Oh, and in case you need more of a reason, there’ll be pour-your-own Guinness. Yup.
Chefs. Bloggers. Lamb. Let’s Rock.
Food bloggers and chefs. Frenemies to be sure. But on Sunday, they’ll be teammates in the American Lamb Pro-Am. You’ll sample the lamb creations by the teams featuring chefs from KO Prime, Russell House Tavern, Pigalle and Bambara, plus cocktails from Citizen Public House. No, you don’t have to start blogging.
