Unionmade’s Upscale Sibling

Fletch Lives. Weekend at Bernie’s II. Under Sieger.

Now that we got that out of our system, let’s talk about a worthwhile sequel...

Welcome Unionmade Annex, the more tailored, upscale older-brother outpost to its neighboring jeans-fueled, heritage-focused original, now open on the corner of 18th and Sanchez.

Over the years, you’ve come to look at Unionmade as the place you’d go to outfit the rugged yet refined adventure calendar you call your life. But when you’re looking for something more upscale, maybe even a little British-y, this new spot will fill in nicely.

While you can access it via a side door through the original store, the main entrance on the corner is hard to miss—especially if you’re coming up 18th. Right away, you’ll sense that you can duck into this airy den and do everything from thumb through a coffee-table book chronicling Sea Ranch to try on Alden wingtips.

If you’re in the market for gentlemanly outerwear that channels Brad Pitt in A River Runs Through It, try the waxed-canvas fishing jacket with a button-out lining and hidden pockets from Barbour To Ki To—a collaboration with the Japanese outerwear freelancer Tokihito Yoshida.

Or if you just need something to combat the morning fog, a thick wool cardigan like the Paxman Knit will do.

In true dapper general-store form, you can pick up odds and ends like a walnut tabletop radio by Tivoli Audio and periodicals like Japan’s Free & Easy or the September issue of Monocle.

Reading with a monocle, however, would be overkill.
