Hi there. Hope you’re having a great Monday so far.

...

Related: whiskey.

Lots of it. Right here at Commonwealth. It’s South Beach’s first dedicated whiskey bar, it’s open now, and these are pictures of it.

This used to be Automatic Slim’s, but you’d never know it. Not with the 157-year-old organ up front and the wall fashioned out of whiskey barrels toward the back. And while you might feel compelled to shed a tear for the dancing pole that once was, the 120 different whiskeys behind the steel bar will do a fine job of consoling.

Note the roots growing out from behind the whiskey wall. Note that you’re empty-handed. Rectify that with a Shye Rye with whiskey, crema de sherry, chai orgeat syrup and vanilla soda.

But if it’s a date situation, cozy up in one of the banquettes. The sous-chef from Matador is heading things up, which means good things in the way of duck-fat fries and chicken-skin tacos. But it means even better things for your burger. Because he’s figured out how to bake the runny egg that’s supposed to be on top of it right into the bun.

Never stop believing in magic.
