Going Public

Where to Drink at AT&T Park

In baseball, as in life, it's good to keep your bases covered.

And we think opening three bars steps from the Giants' dugout, where there was once just one, should about do it.

Welcome Public House and Mijita, your new brewpub, upscale sports bar and tequila canteen wrapped together under one roof, debuting at AT&T Park on Opening Day.

Given its location in AT&T, this is where you'll go when you want in on the game-day action but prefer central air, instant replay and hearty cask ales to braving the elements (the face-painted, jersey-wearing elements).

If you remember the ACME Chophouse space, you'll recognize the long bar by the windows (still the spot for a martini or two) that's now part of the rustic, TV-laden brewpub Public House. Otherwise, the space is two distinct areas, with the vibrant, casual Mijita around the corner.

You'll want to start in Public House, perched at the bar overlooking the wall of kegs—pint of Moylan's Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale in hand, Lamb Meatball Sub in tow. If tequila is your spirit of choice, then head over to Mijita, where 60 tequilas are on the growing list along with carnitas, nachos and the usual fare.

Ultimately, you can order a martini to start, a reposado to sip and then an Old Rasputin stout chaser.

Then worry about the next eight innings as they come.
