That was Hello Stranger, a bi-level cocktail lounge and club from a few people with some serious bartending chops, inviting you in to receive just that. It's now open in Uptown Oakland and this is what it looks like.

Show up with a group of happy people who enjoy patronizing swanky spots and dancing under a huge gold disco ball in violet lighting.

Then, promptly squire those people to the main bar, which runs the length of the place opposite a brick wall. Relaxed and at home, you'll proceed to become moreso as you gaze upon the cocktail list. Hey, there it is. That Oaksterdam number featuring rye, cognac, vermouth and OG Kush terpenes. Take your time with it. This is your night. Those are your terpenes.

Eventually, you'll take the bar's advice and go meet some strangers. A good place to do that might be on the dance floor, which will be presided over by a rotating cast of DJs and, in the future, live music acts.

Or anywhere else, really. It's a bar.
