You've always wanted to be a barista.

Maybe not full-time. Or even part-time. But at least during those few minutes a day when someone who's not you turns beans into delicious liquid and you think, "Hey, that's nice."

Now you can make that magic happen on your own, all without ever needing to put on an apron.

Because the new Gevi 4-in-1 Smart Pour-Over Coffee Machine is a professional-level brewer, grinder, kettle and scale that will help you make better coffee at home. After a successful fundraising campaign, it's now available for purchase.

Grinding fresh beans is important. That's why this gizmo features a commercial-grade burr grinding system with 51 distinct grind settings (colloquially known as a literal shit ton), and a built-in digital scale. It gives you complete control over how your coffee grounds turn out.

The pour-over function can be as manual or as automatic as you want. For a more hands-on approach, you can adjust the water temperature, rotation speed and height of the pour, or you can just set it to auto mode and leave it all up to Gevi. The machine uses three jet spouts that can rotate up to 360 degrees and pour from three inches up, mimicking the movements of an experienced barista to ensure that all coffee grounds come into contact with the water for maximum flavor extraction.

That hot water can also be used sans coffee beans, aka kettle mode, so you can make tea, Hot Toddies and other beverages that require hot, fresh water.

After tinkering around, you may find a combination of grind and pour-over techniques you like. In that case, save the settings so they're replicable for your next cup. That's the kind of consistency you appreciate in your baristas. Or, in this case, your countertop coffee makers. The latter won't paint a foam leaf on the top of your latte, but it also won't talk incessantly about its screenplay.

Seems like a fair trade.
