The Triumphant Return of Asian Box

Yes, They Brought a Full Bar With Them This Time

Sometimes when a thing leaves, it comes back stronger and better than before.

Examples: Robert Downey, Jr., Gandalf and now, Asian Box.

That last one has triumphantly returned to San Francisco with a new Marina spot that’s now open in the former Tacolicious space, full bar and all. Have a look around, won’t you?

Noting the graffitied wall to your left, you’ll immediately head to the counter on the right and check out the menu. Good thing you were looking for an Ox Box with double beef, Jasmine rice, sauce-tossed vegetables, caramel egg and Asian Street Dust. Because, hey, there that is.

But there are more important things in play here. Namely, their first-ever full bar menu, which you can see here. The drinks come in glass or carafe form. A Paris by Night carafe with gin, tonic, muddled cucumber, lemongrass and soda will feel about right. Though a Saigon Shot (it’s cinnamon-infused tequila) will probably feel about right-er.

And in the weeks to come, they’ll be bringing in bar food like sticky lemongrass short ribs, which will only be available at this location.

Mostly because it has a bar.
