Imagine Philippe Starck designed your living room.

Congratulations, you’ve just imagined Saam, the new lounge at SLS Brickell that opens tonight and looks really nice.

It’ll feel like you’re drinking gin in some well-traveled statesperson’s study. Map-like rugs, tribal pillows, antique globes and cowhide chairs tend to have that kind of effect on a place.

As one does, one should start the evening at the marble-topped bar with a Pink Punk Lemonade consisting of gin, raspberries and scotch. There’s also the matter of a strange elixir that combines tequila with red wine, but all in due time.

First, the need for fresh air and the scent of burning logs will call. Answer them out on the balcony, where a mantle stocked with literature and art frame a constantly burning fireplace. Sit a spell and discuss the African masks or something. The views of Brickell. The DJ. The cigar program.

Oh, and you should probably stick around for José Andrés’ black truffle sandwiches and tzatziki.

Otherwise you’ll just have to start all over again tomorrow.

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
