Bordeaux and Beef Bourguignon Tacos on Wilshire

The Little Place You Know When You “Know a Little Place”

It’s okay if you haven’t made it to Paris yet this summer.

The beef bourguignon tacos here are way better, anyway.

Exhibit A: Belle Vie, an enchanting French hideaway providing Burgundian tacos and Bangkokian moules marinière to go with your Bordeaux, now open in West LA. Here’s the slideshow and the menu.

This corner spot contains everything you’d want to find inside a Parisian bistro. Red leather booths under vintage posters and exceptional antiques. Copper pans swinging over an open kitchen. The presence of actual French humans.

An evening here might play out in one of two ways...

It may find you and another person leaning in closely below stained glass at the bar. Your glasses full of something red and made from French grapes. A plate of charcuterie or cheese or actual French fries in your immediate vicinity.

Or it could be you and that same person, only with others involved. Opining on important matters like the beef bourguignon tacos and specials like grilled white asparagus with roasted hazelnuts and ’nduja while somebody calls for one more bottle of rosé.

Things might even play out some other way we haven’t thought of yet.
