If you’re reading this, it means you've survived St. Patrick's Day.

Well done. Here’s an entirely new Ammo for your troubles.

It’s called Ammo To Go, and it's a quicker incarnation of the old Highland spot where you’ll get in, get out and find yourself holding a steak sandwich as a result. It opened today, here’s what it looks like and here's the menu.

It’s now a diminutive Melrose spot supplying your breakfasts, lunches and dinner parties instead of a restaurant you were known to dine at with your production company connections. But you'll be happy to hear that some things, like the turkey meatloaf and Alexander’s rice, are still present and accounted for. As is the name. Let’s face it, it’s a damn good name.

So when you’re going Downtown or to the beach in the morning, make a point of taking Melrose. Stop into this green-trimmed, minimalist rectangle and approach the copper counter. Exit with Caffe Luxxe coffee, a fried egg sandwich and that rice with a cheddar-rosemary scone for lunch.

Then, when you’re returning back east or west later, you’ll visit for something with dinner in mind. Like a steak sandwich, some turkey meatloaf or a caramel brownie to take home.

You always did enjoy the ambiance at that place.
