A Noble After-Work Drinkery in SoMa

You don’t look so hot.

Face all red. Tired eyes. Smelling strongly of barbecue and yesterday’s fun.

Yep. Just as we suspected...

You’ve got a rare yet debilitating case of not having Lord George in your life. It’s a vaguely art-deco-ish cocktail den where you’ll sip Manhattans and slurp oysters after performing whatever perfunctory tasks you’re obligated to perform today, open now in SoMa.

Once upon a time, this was Nova Bar. But then the Corner Store folks took over and installed fancy tiered-glass chandeliers, pendant lights and a bunch of elevated tables. So now it’s not Nova Bar. (Cue the slideshow.)

Any number of reasons might justify you coming here. Chiefly among them:

—Pre-/post-Giants-game drinks like the ancho-chili-whiskey Cobra Kai Dojo and shareable lemon-aioli fries.

—Those group work lunches involving crispy duck confit tartines, Gulf prawn cocktails and sparkling wine on tap. Yes, those.

—Fruitful happy hours bearing Miyagi oysters and bottle service Manhattans.

—Other times.

We just freestyled that last one.
