Cocktailing and Cubano-ing in Harlem

It’s Friday.

Yep, we feel good about it, too.

So we’ll probably see you at Angel of Harlem, a Caribbean-Latin spot that’s going to be your go-to for cocktails and that kind of food now. It’s open. Now.

This is the area to be at the moment. You’ve got Streetbird and West End Hall nearby, which cover your rotisserie-chicken and a-lot-of-beer needs. This one will be covering your rowdy-cocktail-and-Caribbean-food needs.

On the eating side of things, there will be chipotle-mango oysters and Cubano grilled cheeses, and soon, Jamaican-sugarcane shrimp that will be figuratively calling your name, because you should have them, but they don’t actually speak.

On the rowdy-cocktail side of things, it’s the kind of place where you get a pass on drinking something called a Flirtini, which is vodka, watermelon, mango puree, lime and basil, because it’s 90 out and the music’s good and because, goddammit, it’s tasty.

On Sundays, you go here with friends (“here” being in this slideshow) and you have some of those cocktails we won’t name again, you listen to DJs do their thing, and hopefully you dance.

And that part’s a rinse-repeat-type situation.
