Things to do for July 09, 2015
Ben’s Chili Bowl and New Brunch
Three weekends and you’re out.
Lot of Entertainment Right Here
The Capital Fringe Festival is back with more than 100 shows in 22 days. That’s a lot. Don’t try to see them all. But do pay special attention to late-night cabaret, performances titled Barenaked Comedy and Tomato Beard, and a $7 button that gets you drink discounts and unlimited shuttle rides.
Behold: Ben’s Chili Bowl on H Street
We’ve got important half-smoke-related news: there’s a new Ben’s Chili Bowl in town. It’s on H Street. In addition to its famed pork-and-beef smoked sausages, it’ll have everything from grits and eggs to late-night burgers and cheese fries. And coming soon: an upstairs bar and roof deck.
Rasika Penn Quarter Looks Different
You can do a lot of things with half a million dollars. Your favorite Indian power spot, Rasika Penn Quarter, used this amount of money to freshen up a bit. With Venetian fabrics and artichoke-shaped lights. Artichoke-shaped lights run more than you think these days.
Provision No. 14 Debuts Brunch
The newest entrant in the 14th Street brunch game: Provision No. 14. And they mean business. They’re offering up a whole fried chicken on funnel cake with maple gravy, plus three kinds of benedicts. Oh, and French-press drinks, like a Pimm’s Cup that serves four. Or... two.
