You love your mother. But do you love her enough to get her a bottle of vintage Dom Pérignon champagne or rosé that you’ve had custom engraved with a special, heartfelt message of your choosing for Mother’s Day? There’s only one answer.
Things to do for April 16, 2015
Pizza, Coffee and Choco Tacos
The weekend is sweeping up cherry blossoms.
A New &pizza, a New Jetties
If you’re in Dupont, you’ve now got pizza. Okay, more pizza. That’s where you’ll find &pizza’s 12th location, and it’s open until 4am on weekends. Seems late enough. Meanwhile, Penn Quarter’s now got itself a Jetties sandwich shop. And that Jetties has got itself a patio.
Virginia’s New Outdoor Music Venue
Music festivals. They’re great. But they’re a bit of a commitment. Well, here’s a new outdoor amphitheater on the farm that hosts Virginia’s burgeoning Lockn’ Festival every September. They kick things off with the Tedeschi Trucks Band this weekend. Get there early and call it a festival.
On one end of the spectrum: a party at GBD where they’ll be debuting 13 new drinks, a new pineapple donut and drink/donut pairings, along with a DJ spinning disco tunes all night. On the other end of the spectrum: a sharp stick in the eye.
Coffee. On Tap. With Nitrogen.
Start with a whole keg of cold-brew coffee. So far, so good. Then hook it up to a tap that infuses it with nitrogen gas for a creamy head, not unlike a certain beer. You’ll find this at Dolcezza’s newest location at CityCenter this weekend. Pair it with some gelato.
The Return of Room 11’s Choco Taco
Yes, 4/20 is coming up. And yes, we just legalized it. So, yes, a chef-made choco taco may be in order. You’ll find them at Room 11—they’ve got a chocolate-peanut-butter ice cream taco and a cookie-dough cheesecake taco. Also: chocolate-covered crinkle-cut chips. Guess they’re an appetizer.
