The Biggest French Thing

None 14 Photos Le District
Gargantuan French markets in your life today: now more common than gargantuan French markets in your life yesterday.

And that pretty much sums up Le District—it’s basically an indoor village of French food in all its many forms, now open at Brookfield Place.

The Eataly of French food. It’s the obvious analogy to make here, and it’s the correct one. With that in mind, let’s address your burning questions.

What does one pick up at such a place?
For the most part, you’re looking at a massive market, with different stands for fresh moules, tartines and roasted chickens, brie, candy, mousse... just all the French things.

But what if I don’t have any flowers?
That’s what the florist is for.

May I sit?

Please. Anything you can get at the market, you can have them prepare for you to eat right there.

May I sit outside?
Yes, very soon you’ll be croissant-ing aggressively on some riverside patio.

Is there a more classic restaurant-type facility? Somewhere I could bring a date or some such?
It’s called Beaubourg, which is right between L’Appart, a soon-to-be-open chef’s table tasting-menu situation, and Le Bar.

We’ve got translators working on that one.
