Rhode to Glory

A Beach Hotel with Clambakes to Spare

Your regularly scheduled snow update has been canceled.

And replaced with the exact opposite.

Set the clock to summer for The Break, a Rhode Island seaside beauty of a hotel with a roof deck, a steady supply of clambakes and some beds should it come to those, now taking reservations for June 19. (Slideshow time.)

Think sunny thoughts and consider the following:

This involves the other Narragansett.
The one that’s a beach town with quite possibly the finest surfing in New England, not the one that’s a beer.

There are 16 rooms.
And it’s hard to go wrong with all those beachy, late-’60s-design vibes. But if you really want to go right, spring for an Ocean Suite with its own living room, fireplace, ocean-facing balcony and writing desk, where you can sit and compose poetry about your ocean-facing balcony.

The pool will be ready when you are.
So will the seven-person hot tub.

Their fourth-story rooftop deck and bar is designed to look like a yacht.
But don’t let that distract you from the sunset.

There’s something called Chair 5.
It’s their restaurant. It’s where the oysters, clambakes and Narragansett-battered fish-and-chips happen.

Okay, now the other Narragansett.
