Beau Thai in Shaw now has new digs down 7th Street. But that’s not the important part. The important part is they’ve now got a giant bar with seven local drafts and rare Thai spirits, and new menu items like noodles stir-fried in sriracha sauce. Hydrate appropriately.
Korean Street Food, Now in AdMo
Korean street food from the folks behind Sakuramen. It’s about to become part of your Adams Morgan rotation. Think rice bowls, housemade kimchis and Hangover Soup with fish cakes. There’s no liquor license yet, so for now, just content yourself with kombucha. And maybe some fish-shaped waffles with ice cream for dessert.
A New Spot to Watch Weekend Footie
Not a bad time for a new sports bar. And this one in Park View, called the Pitch, will show football, sure. But it’ll also show all the Euro soccer you care to watch, as well as some rugby and cricket for good measure. Hopefully someone can tell you what the hell’s going on.
EatsPlace Turns Dumpling Depot
And now, for its next trick, pop-up shop EatsPlace is going all dumpling on you. Baba’s Dumplings, to be specific. They’ll be turning out meat and vegan dumplings, noodle soups and Rice Krispies treat ice cream sandwiches, plus bottling a line of bitters. No, they don’t go in your soup.
