A New TaKorean Rises near the Ballpark
At TaKorean’s new white-tile-and-concrete spot near Navy Yard, you’ll get the same kimchi-laden tacos you’re used to from their truck and Union Market. Which... yay. But they’ve also got draft beer and sake here. And it’s about four blocks from home plate. Which... bonus yay.

If you’re walking around downtown in late August... well, first off, hot. Secondly and closely related, go to Mio, where they’re slinging Puerto Rican shaved ices called piraguas from a cart on the patio. Choose your flavor (lime, tamarind, pineapple...), then your rum. Right, almost forgot. They have rum.
Rogue 24 Goes à la Carte. You Rejoice.
Good news: you no longer need to commit to 24 courses at Rogue. Or even 16, for that matter. Now you can just do, like... one. Foie gras with porcini dumplings. 100-day dry-aged hanger steak. Bone marrow flan. Your call. This food dictatorship has gone on long enough.

Your game plan goes thusly: grab a blanket and some chairs. Head out to Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton, Virginia. Hit the bar for a couple bottles of red. Then settle in for a screening of Goldfinger under the stars. Dates love Oddjob.
Poor James Madison. Guy plans a dinner party for 40 people at the White House, only to have to flee before the British burn it down. Drat. Anyway, this Sunday marks 200 years to that day, and Martin’s Tavern is recreating the menu as best as it’s known. BYO Ken Burns voiceover guy.
