An Eclectic Deep Ellum Sneaker Shop

None 13 Photos Epocha
Shoe shopping.

You’re familiar.

Browse, sit down, lace something up, purchase a Space Invaders wall hanging and be on your way.

Yep, that’s shoe shopping all right.

Well, at this place anyway: Epocha, an eclectic, under-the-radar shop that’s stocked full of sneakers, streetwear and local art. It’s open now in Deep Ellum, and here’s what you can expect.

It’s got a real design-y aesthetic.
Walk inside, and the front room doubles as a gallery. One with local installations like wooden swing sets and some Space Invaders wall art, in case you’re in the market.

Creative use of wood, this place.
The floors were pulled from old basketball courts, and the shelves were acquired from demolished Deep Ellum homes.

There’s no shortage of shoes.
We’re talking desert boots and loafers, and of course sneakers from the likes of Saucony, Asics and Pony. But the casual, streetwear kind. Not the running a 10K kind.

They’re also outfitting your upper half.
For that, there’s lightweight UNCL hoodies, T-shirts and a few short-sleeve button-downs.

Records. They’ve got a bookshelf full of records.
Those come from the owner’s personal vinyl collection, and you’ll hear them spinning on that turntable in the corner.

That’s not for sale.
