Things to do for April 10, 2014
Cosmonauts, Pac-Man and Oyamel at 2am
The weekend will undergo Tommy John surgery.
Tacos That Go till Last Call
Just in time for playoff season (for the Wizards, at least), here comes Oyamel’s new late-night menu, a collection that includes pickled veggies, meatballs in chipotle sauce and baby-pig-confit tacos until 2am on weekends. Grab a bucket of beers for $25, too. Because it’s late and you’re eating tacos.
Donovan House Rooftop: Back in Business
Friday at 4pm. 72 degrees. A rooftop situation if ever there was one. Oh, look, a rooftop. DNV is back with its view of Thomas Circle, its curtained-off tables and—if you really want to be that person—its pool. New this year: a lineup of Asian tacos and cocktails. You’re in it for the long haul.
The Good Kind of Russians
And now, for some warm feelings toward Russia. It’s time for the annual Yuri’s Night party, where you’ll celebrate the first cosmonaut with space-themed burlesque, bands, dancing, art installations, even a couple Airstream trailers. Which always look like they just landed.
Pacquiao vs. Bradley on 50 TVs
It’s a sports double feature in Penn Quarter on Saturday. The Wizards play the Bucks at 7. And after that, head to Redline, where they’re showing the big fight, Pacquiao vs. Bradley, on all 50 of their TVs. Make your entrance in a satin robe.
Indoor/Outdoor Boot Camp in Shaw
Tax day. You’ll need to burn off some frustration. Enter: Reformation Fitness’s new indoor/outdoor boot camp, Reformation Rip. You’ll meet at the studio, run to some green space and maybe jump some rope, before going through the paces with TRX Rip trainers. Which are as bad as they sound.
