The Ski’s the Limit

Après-Ski Ribs and Growlers in Tahoe

Last time you went to get some barbecue, you probably weren’t on skis.

If you were, our hats off to you. Life well lived, and all that.

Either way, here’s this:

Clip in for Backyard Bar & BBQ, Tahoe’s newest alfresco ribs-and-beer joint that also happens to have ski-in, ski-out access, opening tomorrow at the Ritz-Carlton in Northstar.

Basically, a lot of wonderful things have converged here—you’re outside. On a mountain. In the snow. By a swimming pool. There’s a stone-covered patio and a bar covered by some open rafters. In your immediate vicinity are full racks of ribs and ski goggles over bangs and growlers of beer and your road-trip companion, who has somehow managed to look amazing in a down-filled onesie.

This is all near “The Big Easy”—the chairlift getting skiers to the resort from the slopes—so access isn’t a problem regardless of your choice in footwear. If you’ve got something against post-slope ribs, just know you’re cruelly forsaking the $10,000 smoker. Assuming you’re okay with that, have a flatbread, a burger or some brats. And it’s a full bar, so...

Ski responsibly.
