Halloween. It’s that <em>other</em> thing happening this week. The thing that’s not the World Series. The thing you may or may not have already celebrated. If so: nice. If not: no worries, these five parties are still taking all comers. No, your Gomes jersey doesn’t count as a costume.

SOUL PROPRIETOR

Lucky’s Lounge

The Party: A Soul Train–themed party with a competition for “best strut through the Soul Train line” while a DJ spins funk and soul jams. So if you hate funk and soul, this will really suck for you.
The Crowd: Zombie Jackson Five. Undead Bee Gees. You James Brown.

TRON BURGUNDY

Emerald Lounge

The Party: Well, it’s Tron-themed. It’s just... it’s Tron-themed. Think LED lighting, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and plenty of glow sticks. It’s a great chance to dress as non-Lebowski Jeff Bridges. Never pass that up.
The Crowd: Anyone here could potentially be Daft Punk. Anyone.

REVERE FACTOR

Revere Hotel

The Party: A tequila-fueled soiree with zombified models and bizarrely clad dancers in a 7,000-square-foot venue lit by an LED light show. Think typical club scene with a less typical dress code.
The Crowd: VMA Mileys. VMA Robin Thickes. Everyone else should be sexy.

SPIRITS AMONG US

The Hawthorne

The Party: Bobbing for apples. Black-and-white horror flicks. A giant pisco sour with human legs. Wait, that’s just someone adhering to this party’s mandatory cocktail-costume theme. That’s less alarming now.
The Crowd: A leggy Negroni. A bombshell of an Old Fashioned. You feeling weird about having thoughts like that.

PLAYING THE NUMBERS

Local 149

The Party: Cocktail specials and passed trays with pumpkin arancini and mac-and-cheese fritters. You’re in costume, so nobody will know who stopped passing the arancini.
The Crowd: People who like fried mac and cheese. That’s how you know they’re not vampires.
